Fee Policy
This is the current version of the Fee Policy which came into effect on: 17 June 2025
The policy forms part of Gett’s User Terms of Service (the “User Terms”). Capitalised words used on this page have the meanings given to them in the User Terms.
Taxi Bookings[1]
Meter Fare
The Meter Fare is the amount showing on the taximeter at the end of the Journey (including any amounts permitted to be added to or included in the meter fare as prescribed under Applicable Law). The Meter Fare is input by the Driver into the Gett Platform at the end of the Journey.

For Taxi Bookings in Coventry, you can choose between the taximeter or a fixed fare. A fixed fare means you'll always see the final price of the fare up-front, before you place your order. For more information on fixed fares, please see the table in clause 9 of the User Terms.
Cancellation Fees
Cancellation by the User
- You may cancel your Booking free of charge within 2 minutes from the time a Driver was assigned to the Booking and began the journey to the pick-up location. After the 2 minute grace period, a cancellation fee of £7 will apply.
- For Advance Bookings, a cancellation fee of £7 will apply if you cancel your Booking less than 10 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.
- For Taxi Bookings requesting collection from an Airport, a cancellation fee of £10 will apply if you cancel more than 2 minutes after a Driver has been assigned to the Booking.
Note: You will not be charged a cancellation fee if you cancel your Booking when your driver is running more than 5 minutes behind the estimated time of arrival shown in the app (or, for future Bookings, more than 5 minutes behind the scheduled pick-up time).
Cancellation by the Driver
- The Driver may cancel your Booking after arriving at the pick-up location and waiting for at least 5 minutes, in which case a cancellation fee of £7 will apply.
Edinburgh & Glasgow
- For Taxi Bookings in the Edinburgh and Glasgow licensing areas, the cancellation fee in each of the scenarios above is set at £5.
Service Fee
This is a £1.99 fee charged by Gett for provision of the Intermediary Services, helping us to provide a reliable and effective service.
High Demand Fee
This is a fee charged during periods of high customer demand and/or low driver availability. The amount of the High Demand Fee will always be shown to you up-front in the app before you place your booking, and also itemised on your receipt.

Cleaning/damage fee
This is a fee to cover the reasonable cost of cleaning or repair of a vehicle that has been damaged or dirtied by a User in the course of a Journey. The fee may be subject to a cap set by the local licensing authority. The fee will either be added by the Driver to the Meter Fare or itemised separately on your Booking receipt.

Cancellation fees
Cancellation by User
- A cancellation fee of up to 100% of the Fare Estimate for the Booking (the “Maximum Cancellation Fee”) may apply if you cancel your Booking less than 30 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. The actual cancellation fee charged will be determined having regard to (i) the time/mileage travelled by the Driver at the time of cancellation, and (ii) the cancellation fee policy of the third party PHV Operator fulfilling the Booking. In most cases the fee will be lower than the Maximum Cancellation Fee.
Cancellation by the Driver
- The Driver may cancel your Booking after arriving at the pick-up location and waiting for at least the Minimum Waiting Time (specified below), in which case a cancellation fee of up to the Maximum Cancellation Fee may apply.
- Minimum Waiting Times:
(i) Bookings to an Airport: 15 minutes from the scheduled pick-up time.
(ii) Bookings from an Airport: 30 minutes from the scheduled pick-up time.
Waiting Fees
- Bookings to an Airport: 15 minutes free waiting time from the scheduled pick-up time; thereafter waiting time may be charged at £0.50 per minute.
- Bookings from an Airport: 30 minutes free waiting time from the scheduled pick-up time; thereafter waiting time may be charged at £0.50 per minute.
Airport fees
- Bookings to an Airport: An airport drop-off fee of £5 will apply on all Bookings to an airport.
- Bookings from an Airport: An airport pick-up fee of £24 will apply on all Bookings collecting from an Airport, which includes any airport parking charges.
Extras / Other fees
Additional charges may apply to your PHV Journey, including as applicable: road tolls, high-demand or surge fees, airport charges, parking charges, congestion/low-emission zone charges, technology or service fees, minimum price top-up fees, cancellation fees, waiting fees or cleaning/damage fees. In most cases the charges will be dictated by the fee policy of the third party PHV Operator that fulfils the Booking. Please see clause 9.2 of the User Terms for more information on the additional charges that may be applicable for a PHV Booking.
